SBS 2008 - Sharepoint 3.0 SP2 Update Problem

Well, I made a dumb mistake. On Friday I ran all the updates on our SBS 2008 server without properly investigating what was in the updates. Sharepoint ran the SP2 Update and now I can't connect to anything. It seems that although it says SP2 installed properly, it didn't.

I then tried to run the update via command line with -force, but it fails on the 3rd step. It says that it cannot restart the SPSearch Service and that I should restart manually. However it will not start manually.

Has anyone else had an issue with this?

I don't and I'm on-site today. I did look at them though and they were not very helpful - at least to me. I'll put them up tonight.

Interesting. The issue ended up that although I was logged in as a domain administrator, I did not have the rights to run the update, or a part of the update. I logged in as administrator and was able to run the update via command line.
