OK, I am very new to this area. &nbsp;My situation is this: &nbsp;I was just granted access to a test server and I am trying to test it out. &nbsp;What software do I need? Management Studio/Visual Web Developer/Visual Studio, etc...? &nbsp;I am not sure the difference on what these do. &nbsp;I can only get software versions of 2005. &nbsp;Thanks.

SQL Server using Web Developer

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is a suite of relational database management system (RDBMS) products providing multi-user database access functionality.Component services include integration (SSIS), reporting (SSRS), analysis (SSAS), data quality, master data, T-SQL and performance tuning. It includes support for managing XML data and allows a database server to be exposed over web services using Tabular Data Stream (TDS) packets encapsulated within SOAP (protocol) requests.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Active Server Pages (ASP) is Microsoft’s first server-side engine for dynamic web pages. ASP’s support of the Component Object Model (COM) enables it to access and use compiled libraries such as DLLs. It has been superseded by ASP.NET, but will be supported by Internet Information Services (IIS) through at least 2022.
