What is HID Non_User Input Data Filter?

I am religious about keeping my Windows XP up to date. Most of the time, the updates are "security fixes". But today a new one came up, and I'm trying to figure out why - and what it is.

Microsoft-Other hardware-HD Non-User Input Data Filter (KB 911895)

I have not made any changes to my hardware recently. When I Googled this, the results went back to 2008. So I'm curious as to what this is and why it's coming up now?

But I don't have Vista - I have Windows XP. So why would Automatic Update be picking this up?
It's probably specifically in relationship to your hardware. Are you using IntelliPoint?
I did find that my keyboard (Logitech) is an "HID" device. I don't really know what "Intellipoint" is.
