hey y'all,

I am aving an issue with a VPN tunnel. The routers are: Sonicwall TZ180  and Linksys RV042. the VPN is up and running, however I can't ping nor resolve DNS names between the two locations.

Obviously NETBIOS broadcast is enabled in both the routers.

any ideas?

thank you,

I had the same problem with Linksys and Zytel firewall. We junked the linksys and got another zytel FW. Probably a hardware compatibility issue.

Thank you for the tip.

I will do some reasearch online and see if there's a fix for this type of deal. Junking the Linksys is something I would rather do ONLY if the obstacle is insurmountable.

Also, I forgot to mention that I upgraded the router to the latest firmware available.

If anyone else has other ideas, please come forward.

thank you.

I will tell you that we have issue with Cisco Pix and Linksys. If the Linksys firmware is above a certain revision it won't work. If we roll it back all is good. We go lots of support from Cisco and Zero from Linksys on this issue. Go figure they are the same company.

Not the solution I was looking for because I had to junk my router and purchase another Sonicwall, but it was the only way to get it to work so I will accept the solution,
