In my office i have connected a canon laser jet (LBP3000) printer to a CNet (cnp-102U) print server. I have configured the print server using the configuration wizard. the print server detects the printer, and the printer driver also can be installed. I have checked the port also and it seems OK as mentioned in the print server manual. But when tried to print it says the print server is down. Iam trying in windows server 2003 with a 100/MBs Ethernet. Here are the errors i get when i press print!!!

did you do a power off/on cycle to reset it?
do you have the error from other pc's too?
did you try another port / cable ?

I have resetted and reconfigured the print server for three times. I have tried it with a windows XP also, with another Ethernet switch and a completely new cable! But every time the result is the same! I am still wondering why it is detecting the printer and does not print? i can even configure the default setting for the printer! but if I try to print, the same happens again and again.

It seems that the link you provided me is the software for print server management. I have a CD that came with the print server and it contains the same software. Through the web interface of the print server the firmware can be updated. But it asks for the firmware update file. Is there anyway i can get that file? I have googled it but nothing!!!

I have downloaded it. It says the download firmware but it is the software. The Cd also has the same thing. The web configuration asks for the firmware file!! I have attached a screen shot of the software and the web configuration!!

you're right, it's the software; at least i can't see a firmware file.
you can contact them, and ask how to solve your problem : http://www.cnet.com.tw/contact-new.htm

They don't have a firmware for cnp-102u: http://www.cnet.com.tw/firmware.htm. So then it means that the printserver doesn't support LBP3000. Do I have to get new ones???
