Iphone email not showing last 50 emails in inbox

My Iphone is set up to sync with an exchange 2007 server.
Even though it is set to show the last 50 emails, it only shows maybe seven of the most recent emails.

There are actually tw settings for what will be synced / shown.
There is the one I presume that you are referring to on the root screeen of "Mail, Contacts and Calendar" and also one specific to each account.
Try tapping the account that you are having trouble with and have a look at the bottom for a field called "Mail Days to Sync".
Does changing that make any difference?
