Can't print in Internet Explorer

I am having a problem printing in Internet Explorer. If I do a print preveiw screen it just shows a blank white page.  I print fine in any other environment.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is it something specific your are trying to print?  Or does it happen to anything you try to print from internet Explorer?  What version of IE are you running?

It doesn't matter what it is. Specifically, I was trying to print a webpage.  Here are the things that I have already done in an attempt to fix the problem.  I have tried a different printer. I am on a network and have access to 16 different printers. None will print the webpage. I have tried my local printer. I have downloaded all the Windows Updates. I am current with those.  I am using IE 8.

I have a feeling it may have something to do with IE8. Try downgrading to IE7 and see if the problem persists. I suspect that you won't have any problems. I've seen weird problems with IE8 that effects some users after install.

Reverting back to IE7 did not work.  Also did a system restore 30 days ago and that did not work.  I have scanned and cleaned my computer of any and all viruses/spyware.   I am not part of a network domain.

Also , i have installed Firefox, Safara, and Google Chrome and they all do the same thing.  Again, I can print from any application on the computer, just not a browser.  Outside of re-installing the entire operating system, I am at a lose for what is going on.

Very strange. Next thing you can try is changing your default printer in Windows to something other than your current default printer (doesn't matter what it is). Try doing a print preview from your web browser with the new default printer. If that works fine then you may have to delete your original printer from Printers and Faxes and re-add it. As you are experiencing problems in multiple browsers the the problem is Windows related.

I am kind of inclined towards the default thing here. Do you have AOL installed on your computer? Is IE8 the default browser? or some other browser is?

Making IE8 as the default browser might help with this problem. This can be done from within Tools->Internet Options.

Hello,
Not sure what type of printer you have.  You might have to update the drivers, OR if you are using postscript drivers, switch to PCL 5e drivers.

Guys none of that worked.  ivanoviola came close in the fact when I changed the default printer and tried printing from IE 8 I got nothing.  The printer option box does not even start up.  However, using Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox will now start up the print option box and allow me to print.  Again, it wasn't even doing this until I change the default printer option.

So it is either a Windows Operating System problem or more likely the latter, a problem with IE.  Even reverting back to version 7 did not fix the problem.

The last thing you can try is log into the computer as a new user. A new profile will be created. If the problem occurs with the new user then the problem is Windows related. If the problem does not occur then the problem will most probably be profiled related.

That Did It!!!!!   Removing the Application Microsoft Inventory Analzyer restored my printer function.  When I read your post, it triggered my memory of having recently downloaded that program within the last 3 weeks,  That was around the time the problem started but I never associated that program with my problem.  Thanks Again!  I  knew I could count of the team to help me resolve this issue.
