Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Saying "fact table in my outline" would not be correct.

A fact table is something a little different.  Depending on if you are using a realtional database source and building your cube on a star schema, a fact table is the table that has all your data in it.

For Essbase purposes the fact table is often just a text file, that gets loaded into Essbase.

If you use Essbase Integration Services to build your cube from a realtional source then the fact table is in fact a table.  And yes EIS does allow you to use alternate fact tables during data loads.
