Well, that question I do not know an honest answer to, but I can tell you this: I have never beaten the whole game and I play Zombies daily. Although I play multiplayer online as the host, so I'm not sure about single player. For single player you *might* have to beat the game first.
On a side note, I will say that you can create a backup of your CoD WaW profile by making a copy of the following folder and files within:
(VISTA) C:\Users\<username>\appdata\local\activision
(Windows XP) C:\Documents and settings\<username>\application data\activision

Let me know if this helps.
Thanks.

If you have CoD WaW installed on a PC as I do, you should be able to run the "Single Player / Cooperative" mode, and click on the "Cooperative" option, select "Host Game" (to create a new session) or "Find Game" (to find a session that's already created).
On a side note, you could always bring down the console (~) and type "/map <mapname>" to start a single player zombie session. I do not know the map name's off the top of my head though.
