Margins in Word 2007 (.docx) will not print correctly to a Cannon Imagerunner c2880i color printer

Hi,

I'm trying to print a WORD 2007 document (.docx) with a page border. It shows up correctly in print preview but when I print to the color Cannon Imagerunner 2880i the margins are screwed up. The top margin is bigger than the bottom margin which makes the document look funny. This happens on any document that prints with a border on this particular printer. I am running Windows XP SP 3, with Office 2007 SP2, the printer is networked on a domain. I have tried creating the document from scratch, updating the printer driver on the server & the computer, adjusting the margins manually, disabling word addins and none of that worked. The document will print correctly to our black and white laser printer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Check on the printer itself for any zoom functions, margin adjustments. Aslo check that the paper trays are set correctly to the right paper size. Check also that the paper you select is coming out of the right trays and that the printer is not overriding your printer driver settings.

There may also be a firmware update for the Canon machine that you will need to get a Canon service tech to update.

Thank you so much! I didn't check the actual paper trays in the machine. The letter size tray was set to A4/A3 paper- who knows why. Anyway I adjusted the tray setting to letter size paper and now it prints correctly. Yay!
