Fatal Error Installing Driver/Software for HP Laserjet M1522NF

I get a fatal error message when I try to install the driver/software package for the HP Laserjet M1522NF Printer/Copier/Fax.

I have tried the solution it comes with at the end but that does not help at all.

Has anyone come across this or any ideas. The computer it is being connected to is Windows XP SP3. I have attached screenshots of the error messages

Upon reading through a couple HP forums, thsi solution seemed to have worked for other people:

Try uninstalling the printer driver completely. Then delete the following files:

\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hppasc01.cat
\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hppcp601.cat
\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hppcew01.cat
\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hpzius12.cat
\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hpzipr13.cat
\Windows\System32\DRVSTORE\hpzid414.cat

Then reinstall the software.

None of those files are present. So it was totally uninstalled and the installation still errors out.

Also HP has different possible software downloads and the descriptions are the same

Also when the computer restarts it adds the scanner drivers fine but when it tries to setup the printer it says it cannot because the port is unknown
