Everything sent by Outlook is refused
After 2 hours with hughes.net I finally got Outlook to receive messages so I don't have to go through their horrible portal. I thought all was good until I got this error, -
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'replaced@hughes.net'. Subject 'test', Account: 'hughes.net', Server: 'mail.hughes.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 5.7.1 <replaced@hughes.net>: Recipient address rejected: Access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
Everything sent by outlook is refused buy ANY addressee. I can receive, but I cannot send to anyone from Outlook. I can send if I go through the Hughes.net portal. Just not from Outlook
Hughes.net is webmail.

I'm at work now. Thanks for the response I'll check that as soon as I get home. Though I do think I tested it with smtp.hughes.net and had the same problem. I go through the steps in your link and post the results.

What do you have for the outgoing server? It seems like you have mail.hughes.net. That isn't correct it seems. Look at the steps at http://kb.hughesnet.com/al/12/2/1278.htm#Configuring_Email_in_Microsoft_Outlook_XP for the Outgoing server set up. The server should use smtp.hughes.net. Also make sure you notice and check the steps that talks about the setting on the Outgoing Server tab.
