Hi EE,

I am looking for some software i can run on a Mac AND/OR PC allowing for instant messaging within a local office, ie that does not go out to the WWW to transfer the message.
Also the ability to send files between computers through this software would be great also.

Hope something exists.

Cheers
Paul

p2p messenger .net - http://www.p2p-messenger.net/p2p/
It is decentralized, based on the udp protocol and supports better encryption then most commercial im clients

a very nice sollution is microsofts "office communicatior 2005" (http://www.microsoft.com/office/livecomm/communicator/prodinfo/overview.mspx) ...its the "new" windows messenger, which can be centrally managed, cause it works with live communications server 2005 sp1, and also allows the internal users to communicate with external e.g. msn users (only if the admins allow it)
