Superloader 3 not ejecting tapes manually

Our superloader will not eject tapes until we power down the unit.  When we try to eject they just sit and grind and make all kinds of noises.  I am guessing faulty hardware but doesnt make sense then that a reboot of the device fixes it.  Any ideas?

Maybe cleaning out all dust and debris from the loader could help. Possibly a sensor is blocked by dust which wouldn't be needed during a reset.
