Access 1 Outlook ost file from different operating systems

I have Outlook 2007 installed in two partitions (Vista and Windows 7). Within Vista Outlook syncronizes with a hosted Exchange Server and saves mail, contacts and agenda items in C:\Users\{usernname}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook0.ost (and C:\Users\{usernname}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost?)

For private use I use Windows 7. I installed Outlook, but I don't want to create another (big) file with outlook data.Is there a way to set Outlook to save data to the ost file on the Vista partition. It has to be robust, because my Outloook data is vital!
Or is it better just to save the data under Win7 too? Modifications to the file are always being syncronized with Exchange.

The OST file is profile specific. You cannot use an OST file with another profile, which includes from another OS. Therefore you will have to maintain two copies of the OST or use one installation of Outlook "live" rather than in cached mode - with the corresponding performance hit.

Makes sense! I'm anxious to loose my data, so I think if I have two copies of the OST file, I always have a backup on the other partition (with data up to the last time I used that partition). So it's even safer!
