Real Basic with large mySQL databases

I'm trying to develop an application in realBasic for a customer who's using OSCommerce with MySQL.
The database contains around 100 tables.
Using both the ODBC and the MySQL plugin I can create the Data source but it just opens a blank window and freezes.
This problem may be related with the large number of tables in the database, because when I do the the same thing with databases with few tables everything seems to work correctly.

Your data source is just one or several connections do your db, there are no reasons why you should keep "lots of" tables open.
So the problem might be something else.

Maybe the SQL queries you are building are the source of the problem.
I would suggest:
1 - That you install phpMyAdmin if not yet available.
2 - That you display the text of the queries before running them, and that you directly check in phpmyadmin if they return the expected result. If you still get a blank page without the texte of the query that should display... place a php   exit(); just after the display of the text. This will of course stop your program.... but you will have the text of the query and will be able to test it.
Place here a copy of the error messages (after cleaning any server name etc)
