Nortel Switch Password recovery
Hi All I hope that you will be able to help me,
I've got Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 4548GT-PWR I was trying to Set a Web Password from : Administration > Security > Web
in Web Switch Password Setting i was changing into Local and typed the password for Readonly and Read/Write
I was trying to set the password into "password" and clicked on submit.
The machine prompt me a note that the password must be lenght of 10-15 digits and i should click on OK.
Now... I can't login into it ... I've god login failed all the time....
What should i do??
I was trying to connect by Telnet but No matter which password i'm using I Can't login.
Please help me here ...

No i'm not onsite
if you haven't saved config, then reboot should help also.

there is no option to "Save".
this switch Auto Saves the configuration automaticly.
does anyone here knows if there is any way using the MAC address or hash that as the Password like other vendors has the ability to recover the Admin password?

autosave feature can be disabled (if I remember correctly)
however, I would try console first, because without physical access you hardly be able to recover lost password....

Yes but if i am comparing this device to another vendors (Like Cisco for example) i remmember that there is an option to recover lost admin password..
i would like to know if this option is available in Nortel products.

Do you have another privileged password or write community via SNMP?
If you have another baystack, you could try to stack it.
Since the password for stack's and standalone units are different.

This unit configured as a Base one.
and i don't know if snmp is enabled.
