I am restoring a new database to my local SQL2005 server which has 4 users. After restoring the database I can see the users in the database - Security - Users. But I can't connect to the database server using those users.

Then I added the users to the Server - Security - Logins area. But I still can't connect using the users.

I then tried connecting the Login to the database with the User Mapping, but it says the user already exists in the current database.

Any ideas? What is the proper order of getting everything connected?

Thank you for the excellent quick help. I think that would have taken me a long time to find. I wish the Server Management Studio did it more for me automatically.
