Wordpress plugin to sort categories by genre

Basicly I want to do something like this: http://www.animetake.com/?genre=Comedy

I want to give Categories tags/genres that can be used to show categories that have the same genre (of course, this should allow for multiple genres per category).

Does anyone know if such a plugin exists?
If not, how would someone go about doing this?
Anyone willing to give it a shot?

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Why don't you make sub categories (genres) in the main categories. You can customized your WP template how the show the categories.
You can also convert categories in WP to tags. You can also add a WP post in multiple categories.

For my setup, sub categories wont work.

What I need is tags for categories (rather than for posts and it would be good if the tags acted like a category list on the post/edit page)

At animetake website they're using Categories and tags as genres, like i said you can customized your theme on how you want to display that. You can find a lot of info about templates here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_Design_and_Layout

<!-- For the category display -->
<p>Categories: <?php the_category(' '); ?></p>
<!-- And this for the tags -->
<p><?php the_tags(); ?></p>

Are you sure they are using categories and tags as genres?

Wordpress does not normally supposed adding tags to categories...

I am very familiar with the code's you showed me as I have been using wordpress for a good while now.

I would be very interested in looking at animetake's script but I don't think they are willing to share...

Thanks for trying to help therealteune, any more ideas?
