Where do programs decide on language when I install them?
Hi,
I have a REALLY annoying situation
I installed OEM Vista from hidden partition in English with Dutch locale, money/date and US int keyboard
Now whenever I install multi language programs like Skype, they install in Dutch.
Is there a setting I can change for this? And where is it?
Thanks

But I do not WANT to change the locale
I just want to know where the programs look.
If it looks at the locale or something else and perhaps I can fool it when I install it?
Thanks

Just found and used the Microsoft Locale Builder to create en_NL with Dutch locale, money and date format and English language.
Amazing what one can find using the right google search words. Sorry to have bothered you here :)

PS: If I wanted to change the locale, Vista allows that on my Home Vista too in the region settings.
Unfortunately, you can only change the locale in vista if you have Vista Ultimate. All other versions of Vista's locale can only be changed with a clean install of Vista in the locale that you want.
Hope that helps even though it is bad news!
