vb.net 2008 splitterfor mdi parent

does anyone know what combination of controls on a form i can use to create a mdi parent with a splitter dividing a treeview and a mdi container.

perfect example is sql management studio (if you exit the main tab on the right you will see that its an mdi container).

i was dragging the treeview onto the splitter.
