how to insert a tab into an html input field
How do i insert a {TAB} in a textarea? I am trying to edit a text file using a web based editor and need to type a tab. Obviously, just pressing tab advances to the next input element and shift tab goes the other direction. other key combos are also used.
I have lowered myself to cut and paste as a means to put in tabs, but there has to be another, or better way.
My my specs are: browser firefox, OS Vista 64

i am not designing webpages, i want to simple be able to use a tab in an input field. ie like cut and paste with out all the extra work.
Well in that case, you simply can't. It depends on the web-designer of the page you're visiting. Most of them ignore the tab input while some of them do take the trouble to provide for it using javascript. Completely dependent on the website you're visiting. Cut and paste to the rescue!
