Recently (starting last week), I have been unable to receive faxed on a Motorola SM56 internal PCI modem that is installed in an SBS 2003. All updates including SP2 are installed and I can send faxes fine.<br />

Number of rings is set to 3 and I have checked the incoming event log and it shows several entries including &quot;Reception error&quot;, &quot;Unknown fatal error&quot;, and &quot;The incoming call cannot be answered as a fax call&quot;, with error codes 0x0000000c and 0x40000801.<br />

Up until about a week ago, I was able to send and receive faxed without a problem.<br />

I have re-run the fax configuration wizard, adjusted the number of rings from 2 to 3 and rebooted the entire server.<br />

Any help would be appreciated!<br />

Also, this error only applies for some faxes, not all. I can successfully receive some faxes and others will generate this error.
