sysldtray C:\windows\ld12.exe

My system is a DELL Optiplex with with Windowx XP Professional SP3 Installed.

I keep getting this item in my registry. I have tried spybot and malwarebytes to remove it. Both programs detect it and try to remove it, but it keeps coming back. AVG does not report it at all.

Please see attached hijack this report. I did have a virus which AVG removed. This appears to be last remnants of the infection that I can't remove. There are not pop-up or other symptoms, but nevertheless I would like to get rid of it.

I did try combofix.exe, but that just prevented the PC from booting.

Is there a way to get rid of this program?

Those entries can be safely removed , the file in question is related to Koobface worm

Thanks for your replies.

I already tried malwarebytes (and spybot). The entry keeps comming back!
I deleted the three entries as described above (in safe mode), and it keeps comming back, once I re-boot

I can't see the ld12.exe file even though I have show hidden and system files
I am currently scanning with Microsoft Windows Malicious software removal tool. Will post the results when the scan is finished.

your computer is infected with Koobface worm. Manual removal might be rather complicated, I suggest you to download free Koobface scanner from this website: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-koobface.html
It should do the job, many people found this tool helpful.

Just for info for other forum users the solution from rodi_b: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-koobface.html downloads PCTOOL Spyware Doctor. To remove the infection requires the user to purchase a license at £29.95 (http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/purchase/). I have not purchased yet, hoping to find a free solution

Combofix is a good program, but it needs to be used only under the guidance of a Helper.

To uninstall Combofix:
Go to Start > Run and 'copy and paste' next command in the field:

ComboFix /u

Yes...Combofix is a good program...Malwarebytes should of removed Id12.exe.

I removed all spyware monitoring programs, removed the items using hijack this. All is working well. Reinstalled spy-bot and scans come up clean. Thanks for your help
