Access Gateway Config file is it possible?

Hi All,

I have a restore.config file from 4.2 CAG and would like to upload it to 4.5.6 CAG.

We have a spare 4.5.6 CAG already configured for another Citrix farm which we no longer use and the 4.2 CAG is a bit flaky, it needs rebooting after few days. It hangs on http traffic, before i could login to its interface via admin tool but now i cant and needs physical reboot to fix the problem.

Will the above work?

Thank You..

Perhaps a best way would be to build as 4.2 and then do the upgrade.

If you use NetScaler you will want to see these guides. The NetScaler How To Guides show administrators how to get NetScaler up and configured by providing instructions for common scenarios and some not so common ones.

Access Gateway Standard and Advanced Editions work with 2000 series appliances. The Model 2000
appliance was retired and replaced by the model 2010 in 2007. The Model 2010 includes the same
performance and configuration options as the Model 2000 using an updated hardware appliance. The
Model 2010 utilizes front mounted network interfaces, a fixed bezel, and a USB re-ISO method in lieu of a CD-ROM.

IF the model infomation is not on the back of the unit then it would be under the front Bezel.

Also I believe they changed colors from red on the 2000 series to black on the 2010.

i have looked all over the CAG and the only model i can see is -Super Server 5013C-M. It also has 2 usb and cd drive at the front of the CAG? So does this mean its a 2010 and its black?

Thanks

Do you have a Cd-Rom? If yes than it's a 2000.  I have a Super Server 5013C-M and I run the 4.5 software on it.  Citrix refers to these as 2000 series devices as the software can be used for both.

I personally have not done the config migration on those versions but all indications are that it will work. If this is a spare CAG that is not being used you are in a postion to set it up and test it out before moving it in place.  If the published applications are published to Iexplore.exe then your apps shouls be fine. I have not had any issues with IE 7 in Citrix.

ok thanks,

before i do that, i was thinking of another approach first, is this possible?

1. is there a way i can extract the thwate certificate from the running 4.2 CAG and upload it to the spare 4.5?
2. if this is possible then what are the implications? i.e will external user using web interface will be able to logon as normal etc..
3. Because the version 4.5 have more features i guess i will have to configure it to as same as possible to 4.2?

Any suggestion or additional information apprciated!

Thanks
