hyper-v physcial 2 virtual job failing

I have a brand new hyper-v / scvmm install and have yet to get a virtual server up and running with it.  I believe that my Hyper-V Host and SCVMM servers are setup/running properly.

Hyper-V server: 2008 Server Data Center Edition core install
scvmm server: 2008 Server std edition
Server being converted: 2003 R2 Server

During the P2V conversion I get the following error in my scvmm job logs:

"Error (3154)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the hornet server.
 (Internal error code: 0x8099319E)

Recommended Action
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WMI service is installed and running, then restart the agent."

it seems as if this is occuring during step 1.3 'Copy Hard Disk' step

both the WMI service and VMM P2V Agent service are running on the server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I like to convert using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery but it's a bit pricey...might want to run VMMCA I see MS recommends you run it if having trouble with P2V:

I ran the configuration analyzer before installing the scvmm. it said all systems were go. i think it was only designed to help with pre-reqs for the scvmm install and will not help me in this situation.

Hi, if doing an offline conversion it sounds like your nic card drivers that you are using are not support. If you noticed the server will restart in the command prompt and eventually time out. What you can do is run ipconfig and see if it created an ip address. If it doesn't than you need to import a updated nic card driver on the Driver folder.

I actually found a solution.
I disabled all non-essential services and applications (backup exec, IIS, fileway, spiceworks and AD manager plus, etc)
restarted the job and it completed successfully.
thanks everyone for the responses.

By the way it is best to do an offline conversion, especially if your are running any database services like SQL, ad, exchange, blah blah blah. Just a heads up
