modal window - passing in parameter

Hi,

i need a button on a webpage that when you click on shows a modal window (similar to light box) and displays a page with a form on it
however, i need the parent to pass in a parameter

so the parent would have a button called "get quote" which needs to have a value of the product name
that would load a modal window with a quote form, but automatically populate a text box with the product name

Ideally I need a working example of a pop up window that does this
thanks

Are you sure you want to use a modal window. Their implementation is browser specific and some browsers don't allow them.
