HP UX OS download

Is there any HP-UX OS downloads available for free? To do personal testing and development? Thanks.

No - HP-UX is supplied and licenced with the hardware (PA-RISC or Itanium CPUs) and won't run on any other CPUs, so they don't offer a "free" version. However, if you have a PA-RISC or Itanium server, an HP authorised reseller will sell you a media kit  (free with a support contract, so you can upgrade OS versions).

Older media kits may be available, e.g. on ebay. I don't think HP care too much about about media kits being copied or resold as long as it's just the hardware-bundled software licence and not the Enterprise or Mission Critical versions that come with more, very expensive, software.

Add-on software such as drivers and utilities are available from http://software.hp.com , mostly for free

However, you can get a free HP-UX shell account from e.g. http://www.polarhome.com/ - OK for getting familiar with HP-UX 11.0 (old); The front page says "Support for development", so it's worth asking about compilers

Also, HP have a Developer & Solution Partner Program (DSPP) which is free to join but aimed more at companies wanting to develop software for HP-UX on modern kit:
