Hi Everyone,
While developing a WINDOWS application using VS 2005.

I am getting too often the following error to the point that is getting very difficult to work with this, as we have to kick out VS and re-start it to get that going.

Error 4 Unable to write to output file 'C:\apps\CI_net\Code\CI\obj\Debug\CI.exe': Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

Some environment specs:

Running on Windows XP pro
Machine with 4 GB RAM
140 GB Free disk Space
When this happens I check how much memory is been used and is only 1.5 GIG,
other developers are experiencing the same error on different types of machines but similar specs.

Additionally I am using Developer Express controls version 9.15

Any help will be appreciated.

TIA

Follow the steps

   1. Backup the boot.ini file. Then, put the /3GB switch in your boot.ini For more information on the /3GB option, please check the following article: Memory Support and Windows Operating Systems: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx
   2. Make DEVENV large address aware.
         1. Open up a VS 2005 command prompt
         2. Change directory to the Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE directory.
         3. Backup devenv.exe file.
         4. Type and execute the following command line: "editbin /LARGEADDRESSAWARE devenv.exe"
   3. Reboot Windows and Build.
