I have Asterisk so I have to go wit the second option. Does the 7940G supports HTTPS for loading logo? For some reason, my web server(Linux) redirects ALL HTTP requests to HTTPS (I think that could be a problem)... If you also know how to make SOME folders in my Linux web server non-HTTPS, please post here. Thnx.
it's a path you can use an IP instead,,
for creatinf folders on linux
you need to go to the root directory for your apache server,,check the http config file
then add what ever you need by this command ::: mkdir (directory name)
is that what you want ??

No, for some reason, the phone is not requesting the image from my TFTP server... I tried to put the logo_url thing in both the SIP<MAC> and the SIPDefault.cnf files. But the phone is just not requesting for the files...

Can you provide me with an image of Google in the format and size that the 7940G SIP will accept? For some reason, the phone is reading the file now but the cisco logo is gone and there is no logo (blank)...
I need a template so that I don't have to start new, the whole converting and resizing process is giving me a headache...

if you are familiar with XML then use this link

or if you are using Asterisk over linux,,then
Doing this quite easy and involves adding (or modifying if it's already there) a line to the SIPDefault.cnf file.
logo_url: "http://www.webserver.com/path/file.bmp"
