We have windows 2003 server, exchange 2003 server, a sonicwall NSA 3500 firewall. 6 active VPN users. One of the VPN users is in China.

The 5505 asa firewall/vpn is low cost (around 500.00 US retail), doubles as firewall and vpn. You can get some cisco business router/vpn models for around 200-250. The asa 5505 is the lowend model of the 5000 series of appliances. It is the newer generation of pix firewalls. It is very reliable. you won't need the sonicwall then. You can buy a license to increase vpn users and IPSec tunnels to 50 with security+  license. Also can use clientless SSL vpn also
