Problem with symantec backup exe 12,5 sp2 on windows 2008
Backup exe 12,5 on a windows 2008 server and I have problems with a local backup to tape that stay queued for hours and then fail with the following error:
Error category : Job Errors
Error : e0008821 - Job was recovered as a result of Backup Exec RPC service starting. No user action is required.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-34849
I have installed all the pathes that are available both for windows 2008 and backup exe but still get this error messages. I have managed to correct the issues sometime by doing a repair of the Symantec backup exe and reinstalled all the updates and after that use hp library tapes and tools to insert the latest drivers for the hp dat 160 and it works for a while and then the problems occurs again.
Have you any ideas what can cause the problems?

Are you able to run backup on to a disk?

I found the solution, it was the hp management agent for iscasi that was the problem.
