Can you delete calendar appointment through the Exchange Server?

I'm looking for a way to delete a calendar appointment for lots of users in our company. An assistant canceled an appointment that she sent to all users, but the cancelation didn't take for several users. Now several users have the appointment popping up (it's recurring) but the appointment isn't on the assistants calendar or the resource's calendar, so there's no way to try and resend the cancellation.

I have the details of the appointment, such as the name and dates. Is there any way to purge a meeting from all users' calendars from Exchange, or something like that?

Thanks!

If you delete the creation appointment you are unable to delete it automatically.. Users will need to do that themselves, because when an item is created within Exchange it gets an ID, after that all calanders link to that ID. Meaning if you recreate the appointment you will get another ID appointed to it.

I figured there wasn't any magical delete method from Exchange. Just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for the response!
