Hi,

We have Exchange CCR cluster on windows 2008 and there are some errors on
passive node:

Event-ID: 2147
There was a problem with 'Clusterserver02', which is an alternate name for 'Clusterserver02'. The list of aliases is now 'exmbx02', and the alias 'was' removed from the list. The specific problem is 'CreateFile(\\Clusterserver02\77cbc881-56ff-474e-9e35-8cd3c115ad47$\E0500014835.log) = 2'.

After this:
Event-ID: 2104
Log file action LogCopy failed for storage group Cluster01\SG4. Reason: CreateFile(\\Clusterserver02\77cbc881-56ff-474e-9e35-8cd3c115ad47$\E0500014835.log) = 2

And then:

Event-ID:2114
The replication instance for storage group Cluster01\SG4 has started copying transaction log files. The first log file successfully copied was generation 84021.

Replication of storage groups is Healthy, everything looks OK.

Are these errors something to wory about?
Why they show up?

Thank you.

Check the replication health running ----Test-ReplicationHealth command....I hope all will be passed
Consider Upgrading to E2k7 SP1 RU8 if it is not....

I hope - Get-StorageGroupCopyStatus is also healthy for both servers then you may consider following steps to build copy again :::

1. Suspend the Storage Group Copy.
<http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998182.aspx>

2. Delete all copies of the database/logs on the passive server - including the
copy if found in the temp folder. This will be a fresh start, with no residue of
the databases.

3. Perform an Update. <http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998853.aspx>

(Note: do not use the -ManualResume switch)

4. Perform a Resume. <http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124529.aspx>

Hyper -V is not an issue but somehow they are not in sync..or may be particular log file is having some issue....so rebuilding will resolve the issue.
else...it wont cause any issue....as long as everything is working but it may cause issue while activecopy fails....and we need to rebuild

Problem solved partially:

error 2 ond 3 are away ;-) but the first is still there:

There was a problem with 'Clusterserver02', which is an alternate name for 'Clusterserver02'. The list of aliases is now 'Clusterserver02', and the alias 'was' removed from the list. The specific problem is 'CreateFile(\\exmbx02\890dbe59-3c7b-4c11-b502-cfe12d6fcefd$\E0300014408.log) = 2'.

Any other ideas?

Check if we have Exchange Servers Group added in \\exmbx02\890dbe59-3c7b-4c11-b502-cfe12d6fcefd$ folder on Passive node with Read & Execute, List Folder Contents & Read
NTFS permissions.

Good to see your reply....but what I found is that you can safely ignore these events as per..
