Recurring events deleting themselves when created

I have a user with a ton of recurring events in his Outlook calendar.
Now when he goes to add a new recurring event, it creates the event and after about 1 minute, deletes it.  
Any ideas?

Check that they have the latest SP installed:

Check to see if any custom rules are setup.

If there are rules setup, note down the details.

Then close outlook and reopen using
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /cleanrules

(This will clear any and all custom client and server side rules)

Now try it.

If it works fine now, go back and add the previous rules one at a time.
