In our organization I have access to our Symantec reporting website as shown below. I wanted to setup email alerts to notify me when a virus was detected on a machine in my area of responsibility. The problem is that this is not working. At first I though that maybe and email server to send out emails was not configured, however, I went a step further.  As you can see below I can use the most generic settings here that should pull up many alerts but there is no event data. I know that we have had plenty of viruses in the past year but nothing shows here. I think that if I can figure out why the alert events are not working then getting the email alerts working should be relatively easy. What could be wrong, what should be checked? Thanks in advance!

To get info about virus into e-mail in SAVCE, you should use AMS system not reporting server. How to setup and confiure AMS can be found on:

http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/daff90da8b6c880a88256cf7005f6b51?OpenDocument

Yes, Reporting should be the "new" and "better" way to do it, but this usualy works (above link).

Also, you should consider to migrate to Endpoint Protection 11.0. Licenses are free for users with current maintenance.

Best regards,
Vladimir

Thanks for the input. However, I do not think the above method will help us to configure these alerts on the reporting site. We need this to work because it will allow admins across the country to configure their own desired alerts.
