Print a big size poster

I have a powerpoint poster  size 56" x 14", and i want to print 60" x 20", is it possible and not loose any resolution? Is there any other program i can do this?

It doesn't depend on the final size, but on the pixel resolution.

I recommend 300 pixels per inch, if you want it without any pixels being visible.

So for 56", you would need the digital image to be 16,800 x 4200 pixels.

ok that works but can i print a poster 60" x 20" in a different program other than Microsoft powerpoint?

How do you plan to print it?  

If on your own printer, all you need is the digital image, nothing to do with PowerPoint or any other program.  

Just create a large enough (pixels)  .bmp or such from any program and then send the image to your printer (or take it to FedEx Office or some nearby commercial printer on a CD).

We have a plotter HP Designjet 500. I can print it from there but i need the software to print 60" inches ob more.Question is can Photoshop do this? Powerpoint only goes up to 56" inches.

Well, try opening a 16,800 x 300 window in Photoshop and try printing it at 60" x 1".

I can't make .ppt file to jpg without loosing resolution but i can clean it up in photoshop.Thanks
