Open inside tool tray

I need that, when my project executes, form 1 shows as normal and when button 1 is clicked it opens a small window (form2) inside tooltray ( similar to when someone signs in on msn) pops up. Then it closes after 5 seconds.

I want to understand and obviously require working source code to learn from please.

to confirm.

form 1 to load > button 1 press > form 2 shows as a popup from icon try > form 2 closes after 5 seconds.

Thankyou very much dear friends.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

JEDI has a component for this, save yourself the time:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jvcl/files/

The unit/component pallette section you are after is: JvDialogs
Component: TJvDesktopAlert

If you look in the examples, there is a flushed out demo of the various properties available for manipulation and learning.JEDI has a component for this, save yourself the time:

To use the JVCL, you'll need the full JCL/JVCL installater.
The readme says that it is compatible, so you should be good after installing. Here is the link to the full install download on that page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jvcl/files/JVCL%203/JVCL337CompleteJCL1105-Build3400.zip/download

Note: You need to install the JCL, then the JVCL as it is dependent on the JCL Libraries. Additionally, do the installation from the location you will be storing them at, not a temp directory.

I've never done a partial install of the JVCL, but I know the installer allows you to select only certain packages if you don't want the full blown set of components.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help through this question. I had to install delphi7 as i did not have the 6.0 update /2.

It works now, i will now go and retire with a cup of coffee and learn all there is to be learned.

Thankyou again.
