Drag and Drop

We have been asked to write a web application  (we use classic asp) which will allow the user to drag and drop images from a web site onto a page in another browser (or copy and paste using key board or mouse) into a box on a web page which forms part of the content management system. We are trying to obtain the image (only ligitimate images will be obtained in this way) so that it can be saved to disk in a designated folder, and the name saved to a database. These are for book covers which are being sold legitimately and as such there is no copyright infringement involved as the books are being supplied by the publishing companies. We just need a quick way to update the database with image name sand save a copy of the image .  Any ideas?
