I am using Filezilla for secure ftp and the connection to the server is successful. On the other hand; when I make a connection to the ftp server using regular ftp (on port 21), I get the following message from Filezilla:

Status:      Connecting to [ftp server IP address]
Status:      Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response:      220 GlobalSCAPE Enhanced File Transfer Server (v. 4.3)
Command:      USER ftp.face.cipx.cipx.t
Response:      331 Password required for ftp.face.face.face.t.
Command:      PASS **********
Response:      530 Protocol not supported.
Error:      Could not connect to server
