GPEDIT.MSC Error 54

I get this strange error when accessing gpedit.msc thats part of the Windows 2003 SBS Pack 2 with Internet Explorer 8
AN error has occured in the dialog,
Error: 54
Unspecified Error.

I suspect its partially caused by IE8 which was recently installed on the machine.

Thats a pretty vague error. You might save some time and do a repair install of windows instead of trying to hunt this down.

the problem seem to go away with some recent windows update.  please refund
