Is raid array usable while it is rebuilding?

One of our drives failed in our Raid 1e array.  I have a simple question I can't seem to find an answer to.  We want to rebuild the array tonight, but if it takes a very long time we don't want to affect our users' ability to work during normal hours.

While the array is rebuilding is the server usable?  It is our terminal server.

They array should be usable during the rebuild but the overall performance of the server will be impacted. Depending on how hard your users hit the Terminal Server will further determine how well it performs while rebuilding.
