Dell inspiron  1520 LCD problem brighness/tint

I have a DELL inspiron 1520 that I replaced the LCD because the old one was cracked.

The install went well and when I turned it on I got a picture and see it booting to windows but it has a blue-green tint to it.

Once it boots into Windows it looks a little better but still a little blue-green.  The brightness control improves it a little, but at the 4th and 5th notches on brightness it dims back to like 1st and 2nd.  The 3rd level is the brightest it gets.

Anyone seen this and know what the problem could be?

Could be that the screen is not identical to your original

Otherwise the LCD cable has not been inserted correctly.

Dimness is controlled by the FL Inverter

I forgot to mention that after having this problem I replaced the inverter with identical results.
Then  the LCD panel is DOA or not compatible.

Agreed it sounds like a DOA/incompatible lcd, but i'd check with an external monitor to rule out a video card problem and inspect the lcd cable for an kinks or cracks.

I replaced a LTN154X3-L0D with a LTN154X3-A01 is that a known compatibility problem?
It should be compatible so i'd check the cable and the video card(external monitor). If those are fine the lcd is DOA.

Same LCD panel... same controller module... different revision.

Check with ext monitor to rule out GPU problem but i would say faulty LCD panel
