I want to know if there are WIC cards for T-1 line so that T-1 lines can terminate directly into the Cisco router ...'Those WIC cards, do they have 4 ports for T-1 cards, so tht I only need to use 1 WIC card in the router ?
Basically, We need to setup internet in a remote area where there is no ADSL ... so we're thinking bonding 4 T-1 lines would the solution ...

That's also part of the question ... Wht kind of Cisco router should I get to support these T-1 WICs ? How much is the maximum T-1 ports that I can get in a WIC card ... If it's 4, then I can use a normal 1700 series router as well .... but wht am not sure is how many T-1 ports can be in 1 wic card ? 1,2, or 4 ?

There is a card called HWIC-4T1/E1 that handles 4 T1 channels in one card. I would suggest splitting them up at least with 2 wics. If that one WIC fails it will take all of your circuits. A 1700 router is end of life. You would probably want to look at a 2800 router for 4 T1 circuits.

how abt 1800 ?

Commented:
An 1800 would work too. I would make sure to have enough memory in it to handle all the traffic.

If you go with just one 4port card, then u would need a 2800. a 1800 would support the 1 and 2 port cards.

Okay. then i might just go with 1841 and 2 port card .... Can I go any lower than the 1800 series ?? .
... Wht do u guys reckon is an alternative when there is no adsl in the area and we want to have internet ... is this the only way to go about it by using these T1s and do channel bonding b/w them ...

Commented:
I wouldn't go any lower than an 1800. Are you really replacing a DSL with 4 T1 circuits?

Hi,

there is no possible to buy point-to-point wireless link? It is cheaper if you use it min 2 years!
Or you use 1841 with 2 VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1cards!

yes....no ADSL .. so these T-1 lines are alternative ...
So looks like am gonna have to use 1841 ... and am exactly looking for 2 VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1cards ?
Commented:
Yes. ADSL may say they provide 6 Mbps but it doesn't really provide that consistantly. You may be able to get away with 1 T1 circuit.
