login trubel on esx 4.0

i have 2 hosts running esxi 4.0. on one of the hosts i have a 2003 server running. and i have copied it whit vmware converter over to hosts nr.2. after i have done this, i can not log in via VMware vSphere Client but i can log in via rdp on the orginal machine

Try forcing re-read of esx.conf by typing the following command "service mgmt-vmware restart" at the console

how do i get a console on a esxi??

sorry i keep forgetting the "i" so you need to run this command instead  /sbin/services.sh restart
you can go to esxi "unsupported" mode, check this http://www.virtualizationadmin.com/articles-tutorials/vmware-esx-articles/general/how-to-access-the-vmware-esxi-hidden-console.html

Or there is an option at the "menu" when you boot it, if not mistaken "restart mgmt agent"

the standart windows username or password wrong

but i know that it is the right username (administrator) and the password works if i log on via RDP

if you try to connect directly to the host via client, you need root access or proper access defined for specific user
if you can rdp to the vm, it has nothing to do with your access rights to the host
