You are looking at teh advanced tab i guess??
Are you in a domain or using a stand alone machine?
I'm not quite sure if a standalone machine can do archiving using that tool.. If it is a domain machine, check and see if there is a domain policy that prevents you from using this feature

Yes, we're in a domain and I don't think a policy has been set for this. Where would that policy be anyway?

Thanks

Here's a microsoftr link on how to disable the security tab.

But then again, if you are the administrator of the domain, you must have set that policy yourself i'm afraid (or at least a collegue of yours), if your not the admin of your domain, i'd ask the domain admin were the tab is..

I'm actually after the archive tab in outlook 2003 not the security tab. Not much info out there about it, even in technet.

Yeah i know, that was the wrong post, my mistake, sorry about that..

Try looking at this article.. I know it's only used for Outlook 200 and prior, but normally Microsoft don;t change these things, so where they teel you to go to 8.0 or 9.0, just go to 10.0 or 11.0.

Thanks for the link but I actually just want to enable this feature from the registry or where ever..I cant see the registry hit (in your link) to enable on my machine.

Maybe it is disabled within your registry, that was what i was trying to point out... So it might be the key is in your reg and thus diasbling the feature.. Tbh, if it's not a policy or not a reg settings i'm kinda like lost with ideas sorry m8..

And reinstalling isn;t really a solution imho... But still, that could be a last resort for you..

OK thanks for your help with this. This article was interesting http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/855835.htm but still dosen't fix my missing tab and the ability to auto archive.
