Cant print to Canon ImageRunner C3200

I have a ImageRunner C3200 Copier/Printer. I have tried many different versions of the print driver and I still cannot print to it. The print job times out. I can communicate with the printer as the setup software finds the printer...I can also ping it.
I am thinking maybe the driver on the printer has to match the driver installed on the client???? Is there a way to find out what version driver is on the printer?
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I just had this same issue.  I was able to connect the printer to the network and assign an IP.  But was unable to print.  Turns out that some IR copiers have a PCL module that needs to be installed and also a code that needs to be input to enable printing.

If you have a service provider for these, I would get them on the phone to make sure all of the options are enabled for the copier.
