My x60 switch to standby spontaneously quite often with no apparent reason, sometime in the middle of typing.
I tried your recommendation to turn off the lid activated standby, it seems to work for a while, but after turning to standby (manually) it come back to its habit of spontaneous standby

Any other recommendations?

Hi,

I would check to see if there is an update for the ACPI interface either driver or BIOS. Also, make there are no power profiles set that would cause a power save mode.

Best,

Thanks, good ideas, but why they don't explain what change to create such problem after two years?

That is always the tough question! Hard to say, software/hardware updates can cause funky things with PC's. After a couple years your battery could be tired or your battery/PC connection may be wearing out. Different power profiles will turn to standby at loss of AC power/switch from battery.

Hard to say...

Good luck,
