i am trying to span a port on a cisco 3560g and am getting an error.
the command i am using is:
monitor session 1 source int gigabitethernet 0/19 both

and it is returning this error:
% cannot add interfaces as sources for SPAN session 1

i am trying to monitor traffic going over that port to nail down some issues we are having forwarding certain traffic over a vpn to another site.

Switch(config)# monitor session 2 destination interface gigabitethernet0/2

Switch(config)# monitor session 2 source vlan 10

Switch(config)# end

i just want to monitor traffic coming over port 19 and forward it to port 24. will the above solution work for that?
i am getting a vlan mismatch error on my network assistant after i added the commands according to the example using:
Switch(config)# no monitor session 2

Switch(config)# monitor session 2 source vlan 1 both

Switch(config)# monitor session 2 destination interface gigabitethernet0/24

Switch(config)# monitor session 2 source vlan 10
