Benefits of AIM over Skype

I currently use Skype.  What are some useful benefits of AIM that Skype does not provide?

The reason I ask is that I am an iPhone user and all the "push" chat apps seem to work with AIM but not Skype (only IM+ works with Skype).

Thanks.

Skype has it's own iPhone app, so you may want to look at that instead of the chat apps.

Otherwise, they're similar in that they both provide chat and cam between users.  Skype's focus is more on voice calls than AIM and Skype can make calls to landlines if you pay for the privilege but otherwise the differences are not pronounced.

I know, but Skype on iPhone does not support the "push" in 3.0.  That's why I needed an alternative.

I want to use a chat program that is supported by Beejive, which does not include Skype.  These include:

IM®, iChat®, MobileMe®, MSN®/Windows Live®, Yahoo!®, MySpace, GoogleTalk®, ICQ®, & Jabber

Are any of these better than Skype?

Better than Skype at what?  Chat is chat....

I would stay away from Jabber, personally, but others I know use it and like it.   The rest of that list has no major flaws.

Have you tried Agile Messenger by Agile mobile? I think its pretty good.

Unfortunately that doesn't work with Skype.  Anyways thanks for the input.  I might just test out some alternatives that work good with Push....
